Uponor’s Paul McCulloch Appointed to ICC Development Committee for Fire Sprinkler Exam
According to a letter from Greg Wheeler, chair of the BIPS, McCulloch was chosen because the Board felt he would “make a significant contribution to the success of the committee.” McCulloch, who started with Uponor in 2003, has been designing, installing and training on residential fire sprinkler systems for more than 12 years. Through his time at Uponor, he has moved from designer to lead designer and now supervisor on the company’s multipurpose plumbing and fire sprinkler system, called AquaSAFE™, quickly becoming Uponor’s premier expert on residential fire sprinkler systems as well as U.S. and Canadian building and fire codes. “With the new residential fire sprinkler mandate, there will be thousands of new professionals looking to get certified in this industry,” says McCulloch. “I am proud to be part of this committee and to provide residential multipurpose system experience to the group.” Over the years, McCulloch has trained thousands of contractors on installing residential multipurpose systems and has even been a contributing expert for various trade and consumer publications, as well as home improvement television shows and videos. McCulloch received his degree in fire protection engineering from Seneca College in Toronto and is NICET Level III certified and CFA certified as a Fire Alarm Technician. He is a professional member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.
