UPONOR NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Oct. 20, 2008 Contact: Ingrid Mattsson Brand Management Senior Manager (800) 321-4739, ext. 4249 ingrid.mattsson@uponor-usa.com New Engineered Plastic (EP) Heating Manifold Offers Durable, Cost-effective Radiant Solution Uponor, the global leader in PEX-a systems for radiant floor heating and cooling, plumbing and fire safety, is introducing the Engineered Plastic (EP) Heating Manifold for radiant applications. Comprised of thermoplastic, high-performance, advanced materials, this new manifold resists corrosion, pitting, scaling, elevated chlorine levels and ultraviolet light and is suitable for use under conditions of high impact, heat and moisture for an extremely durable, cost-effective radiant product solution. Successfully installed throughout Europe for the past five years, Uponor now offers this innovative new product in North America for both residential and commercial radiant applications. “Offering a radiant system manifold in an advanced engineered plastic material allows us to provide our customers with three important benefits that are key to building professionals: quality, performance and cost savings,” says Mark Hudoba, senior product manager, Heating and Cooling, at Uponor. The EP Heating Manifold is available in 2 through 8 loops and accommodates 15.4 gallons per minute (gpm). Single loops are also available for purchase to extend the service up to 12 loops total. The manifold offers vent and purge capability, and attached flow meters provide fast, easy balancing for radiant loops. Additionally, installation is easy — simply fasten the mounting bracket to a wall and snap in the manifold. “Uponor is constantly researching and marketing new technologies to provide our building partners with innovative product and system solutions,” says Hudoba. “The EP Heating Manifold is our answer to professionals out in the field wanting a durable, cost-effective product that will provide the quality they require.” Uponor Corporation is a leading supplier of PEX-a plumbing, fire safety and radiant heating and cooling systems for the residential and commercial building markets across North America and Europe.
