New 2" Engineered Plastic (EP) Line Offers Low-cost, Durable Commercial Plumbing Solution

Uponor, a global leader in PEX-a systems for plumbing, fire safety and radiant floor heating and cooling, is expanding its engineered plastic (EP) line to include 2" tees, elbows and couplings, offering a durable and affordable plumbing solution that stands up to the harsh demands of commerical plumbing applications.

“Introducing these new 2" EP fittings, coupled with our AQUAPEX® tubing, offers a high-performance, reliable system that meets the challenges of commercial plumbing applications at a lower cost when compared with rigid metal alternatives,” says Steve Lockridge, senior product manager, Plumbing, at Uponor.

The fittings, which feature Uponor’s advanced EP materials, are immune to corrosion, pitting and scaling; resist the damaging effects of aggressive water; and address future NSF and state lead-content initiatives and code requirements. They also feature Uponor’s unique ProPEX® connection method, which uses the shape memory of PEX-a AQUAPEX tubing to form fast, reliable and durable connections without the use of torches, glues or solvents.

In fact, a recent stress test reveals the new 2" EP fittings can withstand forces up to 2,900 foot-pounds without breaking, proving the products’ strength and durability.
